Question: We recently got an order for an FHA appraisal, which was ordered under my name. I could not perform the appraisal and had one of my team, who is FHA certified, to do it. I asked the lender to reassign the case number to him before we did the appraisal. Of course, it was a rush, and we performed the appraisal. The deal with that lender fell through, and when the new lender tried to get the case number reassigned, it said it could not because the original lender had turned it in under my license. The appraisal that was turned in was performed by the other appraiser, once again, who IS FHA certified, and did not have my name on it anywhere. Now they are asking me to sign off as the supervisory appraiser, but say that I did not inspect it. I do not want to do this and I am pretty sure it is against the rules. Before I tell them this, I want to make sure. Is their only option to get a new case number?
Answer: Supervisory appraisers are not permitted to sign FHA appraisals.

Your only possible choice is to accept a new order and start all over and I'm not 100% sure about that.
