Question: I received a note from a LO: "lender needs you to put in the actual name instead of word 'same' on owner of public record". Is this a legitimate request?
Answer: You should complete the form and provide the correct answers. The form asks for the owner of public record. This is an important question. The owner of public record is the last grantee on the last deed that transferred title and must be exact. I don't believe that "same" is an appropriate entry when answering the question, "Who is the owner of public record".
If there is insufficient space to put the complete name of the owner of public record put, "See addendum" in the space provided.
The LO has made a legitimate request.
