Experience -- one year from the first appraisal on your experience log to the last appraisal on your log.
Formal Education -- High School
To become licensed, the appraiser candidate must be registered and take 60 hours in additional core-curriculum courses.
The candidate for an appraiser license must take the following courses. No deviations are allowed in Georgia.
1. Residential Appraiser Site Valuation and Cost Approach (15 hours)
2. Residential Market Analysis and Highest and Best Use (15 hours)
3. Residential Sales Comparison Approach to Value (15 hours)
4. Residential Income Approach to Value (15 hours)
Some schools (particularly online schools) combine courses #3 and #4 above calling the 30-hour version Residential Sales Comparison and the Income Approach.
